There is an imperative need to protect the medical team, for their own sake as well for the patients who need their care.

The Air-Shade, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the medical team in the corona aisles which will increase significantly the protection without impeding and maybe improve function of the medical team taking care of SARS-Cov2 positive patients. In addition, there is a need to find a way to overcome the steam that forms on the visor and to solve the problem of Co2 when breathing with a mask. The better protection as well as the better function while wearing this PPE will help medical teams to perform their tasks during overload of the medical system.

xCoral – Restoration of coral reef using 3D ceramic printing

A research project in the field of coral reef restoration using three-dimensional clay printing.

The study by Prof. Ezri Terzi, together with doctoral student Ofer Berman, and other researchers in the laboratory, senior lecturer Haim Perens, and in collaboration with marine biologists.

The main idea is to create an infrastructure for recruiting fish by producing different and varied models that create sufficient complexity that allows marine animals to see the artificial reef as a home where they can stay and reproduce. This infrastructure may serve as a substrate for the growth of coral spores and to cover the reef in the living infrastructure of new corals

The research is conducted at the Interuniversity Institute in Eilat, in collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Nadav Shasher of Ben Gurion University, and in collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Oren Levy of Bar Ilan University

Generative Grager

Generative Design – is a new field in the field of design that allows designers to choose options from those that an algorithm based on force analysis calculations produces for us.

The process requires the definition of constraints and forces acting in our opinion on the object and then, in the cloud many different configurations are created which according to the generative decoding software are possible as a solution. Designers choose the options based on aesthetic considerations, or a personal intuitive choice. But designers in this method have no touch in creating the shapes themselves, which is a craft of artificial intelligence only

The project was done for the exhibition ‘Rash, Rash, Rash’ by Prof. Ezri Tarazi and the master Yuval Gur on the Fusion 360

Curators of the exhibition: Dr. Ido Lahav Noy and Dr. Shirat-Miriam Shamir
